Administrative Task Learning Plans

This page refers to a specific type of Learning Plan. Related: Learning Plan Types

Overview

Typically, a Learning Plan represents some sort of application process that is related to the conferral or upkeep of a credential, such as the initial and re-certification applications for a specific license.

However, Learning Plans can also be used to represent processes that aren’t related to the conferral of a credential. These are referred to as “administrative tasks”. Examples include:

  • A “name-change” process for a licensed individual

  • A process for requesting a certificate re-print

  • Ordering supplies

Learning Builder implementation

In LearningBuilder, these processes are created using the “Administrative Task” Learning Plan Type.

There are no functional differences between an “Administrative Task” and other Learning Plan Types, other than how they are displayed on the Application Pathways page.

The Pathways page separates them from credential-related Learning Plans to make it easier for users to find the administrative tasks.

Administrative Tasks are displayed separately from the credential-related processes on the Pathways page

In many cases, Administrative Task Learning Plans do not contain Task Groups and instead rely entirely on the Complete Learning Plan Workflow to manage the process.

The Pathways page contains special handling for those “Workflow-only Learning Plans” that improve the user experience.
