Printing a Learning Plan

Overview

The Learning Plan page is a complex, interactive application and wasn’t really designed to be printed.

However, there are a couple of use cases where a printed copy is useful, and LearningBuilder supports them in a few different ways.

Printer-friendly Learning Plan Overview

Whereas the Learning Plan itself is designed as an interactive application, the Learning Plan “Overview” is designed as a non-interactive summary of the data on the Learning Plan.

There is a print-friendly version of the Overview that is specifically designed for printing. It does away with the rich graphical treatment of the Learning Plan and focuses on data.

You can also print the Learning Plan page directly if you want to preserve the graphical formatting.

This feature asks you if you want to print everything on the Learning Plan (which will automatically expand all Task Groups first, so that they print) or if you want to print only those Groups that are already expanded. The latter option allows you to hide information that you don’t want to print out.

Lastly, you can also choose to omit Activities that have already been completed. This is useful if you intend to use the printed document as a true “learning plan”, focused on tasks that are not yet complete.
