Video Attribute
Released in 12.1, this feature allows end users to upload Videos into LearningBuilder, which can then be viewed (streamed) by other users without needing to download the file first.
Video Attributes are disabled by default because allowing end users to upload large files can result in additional storage fees.
Please contact support to enable them for your LearningBuilder instance.
Configuration
Video Attributes support a handful of configuration options:
Which File Library the uploaded file is stored in
Whether or not existing Videos in the File Library can be selected
The max file size that can be uploaded
Most MP4, WEBM, and MOV files are supported, but there are certain encoding formats that are not. For more information, see Supported video file types
Display Modes
Input mode
In “input mode”, the user is allowed to upload a video file (or optionally choose one from an existing File Library).
Display mode
In “display mode”, the user is shown a video player that allows them to stream the uploaded video directly through their browser, rather than needing to download the file for local playback.
Data Storage
Same as the Upload (S3) Attribute, stores a pointer to a record in EXTERNAL_MEDIA
.
