Auto-start Learning Plans Maintenance Task

Automatically begins Learning Plan Instances for all Learning Plans that are flagged as “auto-startable” and where a Member Role is eligible to begin it.

Overview

This task is executed on a nightly basis and can create new Learning Plan Instances that are eligible to be created.

This can be useful if you want Applications to be opened automatically, even if the Practitioner does not log in and start one manually.

Performance limitations

This task uses a “fast-lane / slow-lane” approach where certain configurations enable high-performance batch processing in the database, and other configurations require a brute-force approach that requires examining each candidate Member Role in application code.

To ensure high performance processing:

  • Configure the Complete Learning Plan Workflow to use the “implicit” Owner Complete configuration

  • Do not use an “Eligible to Start When” rule on the Learning Plan Definition
