Course Sessions
Summary
A common configuration is to represent educational courses as Activity Definitions. If these courses are offered at specific dates/times only, then online scheduling for those courses can be achieved directly through LearningBuilder using the Activity Offerings feature.

Overview
There are two different ways to configure Course Sessions in LearningBuilder:
Course Sessions using Offerings | Course Sessions using Activity Types | |

How is the "Course" modeled? | Activity | Activity |
How is the "Session" modeled? | Activity Offering | Activity |
How are Sessions created? | Via the Provider → Activities → Manage Offerings page, which provides a UI designed specifically for managing subordinate content | Via Provider → Activities, using a Quick Action to create a copy of the original Activity, which is then modified. |
Supports capacity tracking as an intrinsic feature? | Yes | No |
Providers can manage participants within the system? | Yes | No (custom reports can be used to show attendees, but do not provide any intrinsic management capability) |
