Configuring Criteria-Added Activities
This page explains configuration options for the Criteria-Added Activities feature.
For a feature overview, see Criteria-Added Activities / Portfolios
This feature requires the Complete Learning Plan Workflow to calculate Owner Complete using the “Explicit” setting.
Overview
The Criteria-Added Activity feature was created to support a new concept introduced for managing practitioner data within LearningBuilder called Portfolios. However, you do not need this type of application in order to use the feature as it functions similarly to the Copy Forward setting in that it will copy data previous entered by the user, except it is much more powerful as it does not rely on data solely from the previous instance of that definition.
Configuration settings
There are two areas that need to be configured for Criteria-Added Activities to function.
The Criteria-Added Activities has a series of syncing services in the back round that will copy or remove activities as they are added / removed. This can be enabled in App Configuration under Miscellaneous.
The primary area Criteria-Added Activities are configured at the Task Group level of an Application Definition when selecting “Edit Group”.
These settings define the “inclusion criteria” that determine which Activity Instances are eligible to be automatically added to the Task Group.
Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
Activity Types | The Activity Types that are eligible to be included. (These may or may not match the Activity Types that can be manually added via Task Group Activity Search) |
Completion Date Between | Only Activity Instances with a Completion Date within this range are included. This allows the Completion Date to be compared with the Learning Plan’s Cycle and Reporting Dates. |
Activity Instance Workflow Status | Specify which Activity Instance statuses are eligible for inclusion. You must explicitly select each relevant status. For example, choosing “Completed Successfully” does not also include “Owner Complete”. If you want to include both, you must select both. |
Message when modifying an Activity Instance removes it from the current Learning Plan | It is possible that making changes to an Activity Instance modifies it in some way such that it no longer meets the inclusion criteria. When this happens, the Activity Instance will be removed by the Criteria-Added Activity synchronization process. That might be confusing for the end user, so this message is displayed in that scenario. |
Message when newly started Learning Plan Instance contains Criteria-Added Activities in this group | Displayed the first time a user views a newly started Learning Plan Instance that was initialized with Activity Instances from their portfolio. Leave blank to disable this message. |
