How to configure Task Group Activity Search

Configure the search form

To configure the Activity Search form, follow this sequence:

  1. Set Task Group properties

  2. Set Task Group Search properties

    1. Filter criteria

    2. Results list

The following sections describe how to configure each of these steps.

Set Task Group properties

To use the Task Group Activity Search, you will need to make sure a Learning Plan Actor can add Activities to the Learning Plan:

  • On the Edit Task Group settings, select one or both of the options:

    • Allow Practitioners to add Activities OR

    • Allow Others to add Activities

You may select both options.

Note that you will need to scroll down the Edit Task Group screen to see the Activity Settings section.

Set Task Group Search properties

Not all data types can be configured as Filter fields. Please see the “Filter Fields Attributes” section for details on which data types you can use. If a field does not display, it is likely that its data is one that the Filter functionality cannot use.

  1. On the Configure Search screen, specify the fields you wish to include.

To search on the Description field, use the “Keyword” option. Keyword searches Activity Title and Description. There is no way to limit a search to only the Description field. You can specify the Description field directly as a Search Result column.

You may specify the following characteristics of your Filter criteria:

  • The Label to display in the search field

  • Whether the field must be populated to execute a search

  • The operator to use in the search

The Keyword option always uses the Contains operator.

Filter Field attributes

The Filter search option allows search against four data types. If the field is not included in the list, you will not be able to use it in your Filter.

If you need to use data from special data types such as Member or Template data types, you must save the contents of those fields into one of the supported data types for storage.

For example, if you need to search based on the results of a Template attribute, you must store the results of the Template attribute in a Short Text field.

The following Attribute types are available for use as filter fields:

2. Set Search results properties

You may specify the following characteristics:

  • The Label that shows as a column header in the search results
