Info
titleSummary

Some 3rd party web services (such as the Pearson VUE integration) use client certificates to authenticate the API calls made by LearningBuilder. Those certificates can be uploaded into the system, significantly reducing the cost of installing and maintaining them (versus storing them on disk and configuring them at the web server level).

Overview

PKCS #12 files (with a .p12 extension) can be directly uploaded into Sys Admin → App Configuration → Client Certificates.

Each certificate must be given a unique name.

Certificates are not automatically used on outgoing API calls; rather, each feature that uses them must be designed and configured to do so. An example of this is the Pearson VUE integration in which the Pearson VUE app config settings specify the name of a Client Certificate that should be used on different types of calls.

The certificates are encrypted for secure storage in the database.
